Research Assistant Professor (Postdoctoral Position)
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Mathematics by September 1, 2018.
Preferred Qualifications
A strong research record as indicated by ability to write routine reports and papers
for publication.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Research Assistant Professors (RAPs) in Mathematics are required to teach one (1)
one-semester course in the Department of Mathematics. It is expected that RAPs will
have a daily presence at the Center during the Stony Brook academic year and be an
active participant in the activities of the Center that overlap with their scientific
interests. RAPs are expected to assist in the organization of workshops and programs
in the Center, perform independent and collaborative research, apply for research
grants and prepare their work for publication.
Special Notes
This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated start date: September 1, 2018.
