Clinical Assistant / Associate Professor
Required Qualifications
MD/DO Degree, Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery and must have completed
fellowship training in either upper GI/hepatobiliary surgery or surgical oncology.
Eligible for NYS License.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in clinical and basic research, and experience supervising undergraduate/graduate/medical
students, residents and fellows. Commitment to an academic and research/writing career,
including a proven academic track record and evidence of leadership and mentoring
skills.
Responsibilities & Requirements
The candidate must have a firm research interest, either clinical or basic, and will
be expected to develop and expand clinical teaching and research programs in the Division
of Upper GI/General Surgical Oncology. The incumbent will participate in research
conferences, grand rounds and other events in the Department of Surgery and will contribute
analysis and criticism to the research and/or lectures. The candidate will see patients
in the outpatient and inpatient settings. To qualify for a senior faculty appointment,
the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine for appointment,
promotion and tenure (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
Special Notes
This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: August 1, 2018.
