Congratulations to Emily DiCesare
Emily DiCesare, a soon-to-be Junior in the Biochemistry Program at Stony Brook University, has been awarded the Rube Family Scholarship in honor of Jennifer Rube by the Vincent Lombardi Lodge #2270 of the Order of the Sons and Daughters of Italy in Rochester, New York. During the Fall 2024 semester, she served as Teaching Fellow in Christine Griffiths' SBU 101 course and visited the Center for Italian Studies on a regular basis. Emily is a strong student, encouraging mentor, and aspiring doctor! Congratulations, Emily!

Dr. Christine Contrada is teaching the adult program The Giubileo and Rome: A Marathon Tug of War Between the Sacred and the Profane at the Newberry Library. The program is fully virtual and there is a registration fee of $200. See more information.

Call for Applications to NYC Public School Districts
Early commitment stipends of $2500 are now available for hires in all NYC Public School districts, not just those previously designated for early commitment. To be eligible, candidates must complete the NYC Public Schools Teacher Application as soon as possible and then secure an early commitment through the New Teacher Finder by June 16, 2025.
