International Student Orientation

International Student Orientation (Required):

First Year, Transfer, SUNYK, SBIAHU Students: Thursday, January 23, 2025 8am through 5 pm, Student Activities Center

Students will start off their New Seawolf Welcome with International Student Orientation programming.

New International Student Move-In:

First Year, Transfer, SUNYK, SBIAHU Students: Wednesday, January 22, 2025

What is International Student Orientation?

Throughout the weeks leading up to classes starting, international students will participate in Seawolf Foundations Online Orientation, Seawolf Connections: virtual small group sessions with a Peer Assistant Leader (PAL), and the advising and registration process. Some aspects of this orientation will include specific information just for international students, while other parts will be for all new incoming students.

International Students will also attend International Student Orientation programming in-person as part of their required programming prior to the start of the semester.

Students can expect to begin receiving important orientation information via email after paying their deposit. It is important that students review their emails regularly and take action in a timely fashion on any tasks to help prepare for their start at Stony Brook University.

 

What is the schedule for International Student Orientation?

Students will start off their New Seawolf Welcome with International Student Orientation programming. International Student Orientation programming is designed to enhance the experience of our International Students as they start at Stony Brook. At the conclusion of International Student Orientation, International Students will begin their New Seawolf  Welcome programming alongside their domestic peers. 

Students will receive more information early January  regarding their required programs and schedule for International Student Orientation. 

When students are not in required programming, they are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to take part in additional New Seawolf Welcome activities and programming.
