2025 NSF CAREER AWARD WORKSHOP SERIES


The Office of Proposal Development is pleased to present the 2025 NSF CAREER Award Workshop Series.  This virtual workshop series is designed to assist early-career faculty develop competitive proposals for the NSF Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) which are due July 23, 2025.  In addition to this series of workshops, OPD is offering a suite of services that aim to provide faculty with individualized proposal development support.  Details are provided below:

WORKSHOPS:

NSF CAREER Kickoff
When:  February 5, 2025 at 10 am to 11 am
An overview of the NSF CAREER award proposal process, highlighting sponsor and internal requirements, presented by the Office of Proposal Development and the Office of Sponsored Programs.

Evaluation Workshop
When:  February 11, 2025 at 2 pm to 3 pm
How to develop an evaluation plan for the educational activities required in an NSF CAREER proposal, presented by the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.
Outreach Partners Workshop*
When: February 25, 2025 at 11 am to 12:30 pm
A chance to network and develop collaborations with outreach partners from across campus.

Meet and Greet with Past Awardees
When:  March 10, 2025 at 10 am to 12 pm
An opportunity to hear more about the NSF CAREER award and about the application process from past CAREER award winners. 

Data Management Workshop*
When: March 26, 2025 at 9 am to 10 am

A presentation by SBU Libraries detailing their Data Management services. 

Writing Strategy Workshop
When:  April 8, 2025 at 2pm to 4 pm
Strategies for successful application writing, presented by Dr. Susan Brennan, Professor of Psychology and former NSF Program Director in the Education and Human Resources Directorate.
Designing Powerful Broader Impacts & Education Plans
When:  May 5, 2025 at 10 am to 11:30 am
How to successfully design and incorporate thoughtful education plans and broader impacts into your proposal, presented by Drs. Nina Maung, Sr. Associate Vice President for Research Development and Partnerships, and Sheri Clark, Director of the Office of Proposal Development.

 

*This event is part of both the 2025 NSF CAREER Award Workshop Series and Research Town Hall Series.
The SBU Research Community will also be invited to attend.
