My name is Sixto Taveras Lopez and I am a 4th year PhD candidate in the Ecology and Evolution Department at Stony Brook University. My main interests are in the fields of wetland ecology and coastal ecology. More specifically, I am interested in studying patterns of marsh migration and forest dieback in response to sea level rise and natural disturbances such as storms and invasive species. I am also interested in science education research.
Why I chose to join AGEP : I chose to be an AGEP fellow because I am very interested in academia as a career path and the AGEP program offers networking opportunities and microteaching experience.
