Javier Monzón is an ecologist and evolutionary biologist with a broad range of research interests. He has worked on the molecular ecology of coyotes and wolves, dietary ecology of coyotes and bobcats, behavioral ecology of capuchin monkeys and hawk eagles, population ecology of golden eagles, and singing behavior in canaries. One current focus of the Monzón lab is to investigate the effects of urbanization on the ecology and population genetic structure of wildlife. A second focus of the lab is to investigate the effects of range expansion on the ecology and genomic diversity of ticks.
