Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Receive assistance in applying for SNAP.
Formerly known as food stamps, SNAP is a program that helps low-income working people, senior citizens, and others put healthy, nutritious food on the table and feed their families. SNAP monthly benefits can be used to purchase food at authorized retail food stores. Eligibility and benefit levels are based on household size, income, and other factors. Additional requirements may be in place for certain groups of people, such as college students.
The Seawolves Pantry offers our SNAP referral consultations to assist Stony Brook University community members in determining their eligibility for SNAP and other support services and programs.
