Shiqi Wang
PhD Student
Interests: U.S. environmental history and environmental justice, sensory history; 20th century Japan, history of science and technology, social history, cultural and transnational history, consumerism, gender, public health
I am keen on the intersection studies of the relationships between the environment and humans, such as environmental health and human health. My biggest interests lie in narratives, experiences, and memories of identities, places, and everyday lives intertwined with the environment, such as air, water, land, food, and so on in living and working places. The environment, science, technology, and consumerism in the United States and Japan in the 1900s are my main concentrations but I read very broadly. Environmental sociology, cultural geography, and biochemical corporations and marketing also account for a good amount of time in my study.
