Dear Postdocs,

Happy National Postdoc Appreciation Week! Here at Stony Brook, we recognize the important contributions you all make to the productive research and innovation that happens every day. 

To celebrate, I hope you will join us for the events we have planned this week. 

Science, Wine & Cheese, Our poster session and reception, TOMORROW, Sept 20, 4-6pm -- Drop by for some science and conversation, and to vote on best communicated poster.

NPAW Postdoc Picnc, Saturday, Sept 24, 2-4pm -- The weather so far looks to be cooperating this weekend. Join us to network and mingle with your fellow postdocs and their friends and families.

There is still time to RSVP and attend one or both! We hope to see you there.

SBU Postdocs are invited to a poster session and reception in honor of National Postdoc Appreciation Week. Food will be provided, with a cash bar available.

Join us for the NPAW Postdoc Picnic! 
Spouses, partners, friends, and children are welcome. 

Come out and enjoy the end of summer!

Food and drinks will be provided.

Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm (rain or shine)

Location: Holtsville Park Gazebo, 249 Buckley Road, Holtsville 

The gazebo is adjacent to the playground and behind the Holtsville Wildlife & Ecology Center (a little zoo). See map

2 New Joint Membership between ASBMB and National Postdoc Assoc

The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) and the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) have announced a new one-year, joint postdoc membership. Visit this page for more information.

New members that sign up during NPAW will receive membership for the remaining months of 2016 (effective Oct. 1) and all of 2017 for $70. With this membership, postdocs can enjoy the benefits from both organizations at a discount. Joint membership includes:

3 Become a Free, Affiliate Membership of the National Postdoc Assoc

You may also sign up for your free NPA affiliate membership as part of Stony Brook's institutional membership. 

Signing up is simple. Click on this link and follow the registration process. Once you click Submit the NPA Membership Manager will review your affiliate membership within 5 working days, and you will receive an email when it has been approved.

As an NPA Affiliate Member, you are entitled to these benefits:
