University Scholars Program Requirements
University Scholars Program Requirements
To remain an active member of the University Scholars Program at Stony Brook University, students must adhere to the following requirements:
Complete Foundational Courses: All University Scholars must successfully complete the foundational first-year courses, SCH 101 and SCH 102.
Fulfill the EXP+ Requirement: Students are required to complete the EXP+ category within the Stony Brook Curriculum to enhance their academic experience.
Maintain a Minimum GPA: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is essential for continued participation in the Program.
Uphold Academic Integrity: All University Scholars must adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity. Students found responsible for academic dishonesty will be permanently dismissed from the Program.
Satisfy the Event Requirement: Participation in Scholars Events is mandatory for all members, regardless of class or work commitments. The only exceptions are for students studying abroad or enrolled in the Semester by the Sea program. Each Scholar is expected to attend at least one for-credit Scholars Event per semester, while first-year students are required to attend two.
