Collaborate with Us!

The Center for Civic Justice is dedicated to fostering engaged local and global citizens. To achieve this, we look forward to collaborating with student leaders and organzations, resident assistants, and university offices and departments.

Read below to learn more about how you can get involved with the Center for Civic Justice and support our work.

Request an educational presentation

The Center for Civic Justice is available to host the following educational presentations upon request:

Democracy-101: Our peer-led Democracy-101 presentation aims to educate students on elements of civic engagement and inform students on the basics of democracy such as media literacy, the structure of government, and the importance of voting in not only national elections but local elections as well. The program is non-partisan and data driven with the goal of emphasizing the importance of engagement for all, and promoting the participation of all students in democratic process.

Voter Registration: Our voter registration sessions offer brief instructional support on how to fill out the voter registration form correctly. Our Center provides both New York State voter registration forms and out-of-state voter registration forms. Following these sessions, all voter registration forms collected will be delivered to the appropriate state and county Board of Elections office.

Other: If you are interested in having the Center for Civic Justice host a presentation on a topic that is not covered by one of the options above (ex. how to apply for an absentee ballot, how to find your polling location, how to research the candidates on your ballot), please indicate this on the presentation request form below.

Participate in Unify America's College Bowl

The Unify Challenge College Bowl is a virtual intercollegiate event where thousands of students are paired into one-on-one conversations across differences. (So, a conservative student from a community college in Texas might be matched with a liberal student from a four-year public university in Illinois.)

For about an hour, the pair discusses 16 hot-button issues like mental health, gun laws, immigration, and free speech on campus. The students share their points of view, find common ground, and discover that they can have a respectful conversation without conflict. Unify America creates interactive experiences to help people bust out of their bubbles, build civic muscles, and work together to tackle our country’s biggest challenges.
